Position Summary

The Engineer, Software is responsible for building scalable, predictable, high-quality, and high-performance web applications on the Microsoft technology stack, must be a team player. This position analyzes requirements for the design, development, and implementation of projects to support all enterprise systems that improve clinical outcomes and increase staff productivity and financial performance. This individual will have a high level of technical ability and a full understanding of development lifecycles and formal methodologies.

Essential Functions 

• Design and develop systems to meet business requirements or enhance performance.
• Ensures all designs and associated code are sound and conforms to company architectural and coding guidelines. 
• Analyze systems and take appropriate corrective action(s) to ensure system performance and availability.
• Engage on supporting and fixing Production system incidents in a timely manner to help reduce the overall impact of issues, mitigate damages, and ensure that systems and services continue to operate as planned.
• Ensures best practices SDLC methodologies are followed (e.g., design and code reviews). 
• Proactively works with QA to ensure best practice quality assurance methodologies are incorporated into the development cycle and adequate testing is done for each release.
• Work closely with management to assist in requirements definition and review and assist in release definitions. 
• Proactively communicates with other development teams and architects to ensure consistency of design and conformance to architecture guidelines. 

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related area preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a software developer
• 3 years of experience using ASP.NET/C#, .NET Core building APIs and applications.
• 3 years working with SQL Server.
• Familiar with Angular, Node and/or Typescript is a plus.

Required Skills

• Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software as necessary.
• Must have the ability to work independently as well as with others.
• Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite, and friendly manner, both written and verbal.
• Experienced with ASP.NET/C#, .NET Core and SQL technologies.
• Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and computer science foundations, such as memory management and low-level algorithm performance.
• Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA).
• Experience with JavaScript or similar technologies.
• Passionate about building high-quality systems with software implementation best practices.
